Wikipedia #4

Four my fourth edit of a Wikipedia article, I updated the "Cape Henlopen State Park." The Cape Henlopen State Park is located in my hometown of Lewes, De and is famous for its historical sites and great beaches. Starting April 5th, a beach in the state park is closing in order to rebuild two 300 ft groins that were originally built in 1950. I updated the timeline of the article.

Class discussion Friday, April 20th

In last Friday's class, the founder of www.hostmysite.com came and spoke to our class. He was a University of Delaware graduate and started his website will still in school. His story is very interesting, and I learned a lot about how websites are hosted. Due to his emphasis on customer service, I'm sure that his website has a strong future.

Google's new service

While browsing the Clickz blog, I found an article about Google's new service. The ever-expanding Google is currently experimenting with a voice-based search service for local business listings. This service is similar to yellow pages only it can be accessed with a telephone. Although operators and directories have been around for years this new service is free for all users. This service is in preliminary stages, but talks of using it for advertising space have been made.

Wikipedia # 3

One of the wikipedia articles I have chosen to edit is on the concert documentary "The Last Waltz." The Last Waltz features the last concert by the band "The Band." It features many musicians including Neil Young, Bob Dylan, Eric Clapton, Muddy Waters, along with many more. The Wikipedia article explaining this documentary is very in-depth. There is a section on critical aclaim of the documentary, and I added a small part from the Rotten Tomatoes website.

Google Vanity Search #2

I just did another vanity search on Google. My blog has moved from the 28th place to the 18th place under the search "Nate Denver."

Left hand side of the blog

Today I added all of the required information from class to the left hand side of my blog. I included some about me and links to my teammates' blogs, my required class blogs and my wikipedia articles. My blog is starting to look a little bit more serious.

stiuqxela?

stiuqxela

The purpose of this experiment is to see how much power our class blogs have on Google. If all goes well there will be a link between the word stiuqxela and the Green Bay Packers website www.packers.com.
